Did You Know Hitler Was Against Animal Cruelty?

The Nazi party came into power in 1933 and if you had heard the set of laws they passed in regards to animal rights, you might have thought they weren’t too bad!

Adolf Hitler Against Animal Cruelty

It was Adolf Hitler himself who came out and made the announcement “In the new Reich, no more animal cruelty will be allowed.”

Hitler as well as a few other senior members of the party became vegetarians but some claim they were not very strict.

Hitler even had animal testing banned, though this was later revised when an advisory informed him it would not be sensible. He did however protect a number of animals from tests such as horses and primates.

The party also tried to ban kosher meat which requires an animal to be slaughtered in a specific manner. This was one of the first moves against the Jews of Germany at the time.
