Did You Know The Longest Traffic Jam In History Stretched For 109 Miles?

It was in 1980 when  quite a number of unsuspecting French people and holiday goers were to become a part of a record that no one would like to be a part of. At the time of writing, the Paris-Lyon jam is the longest stretching traffic jam in history!

Longest Stretching Traffic Jam In Histroy

Stretching for 109 miles (176 kilometres) between Paris and Lyon, the congestion came about because of thousands returning from their skiing holiday and poor weather didn’t help either.

It’s not really been documented for how long in terms of time the jam lasted for but it probably doesn’t beat the 12 day record set by a traffic jam in Beijing, China in 2010.

Maybe the French could have improvised and maybe… skied home?
