Did You Know A Tiger’s Tongue Is So Rough It Can Lick The Paint Off A Wall?

A tiger’s tongue is not like ours, it has quite a few duties to carry out. So much so that the tongue is designed to be so rough it can lick the paint off a wall!

The tongue of a tiger is covered in many small projections called papillae. These rear facing projections give the tongue is rough and abrasive nature.

A tiger’s tongue has this complex design in order to allow the tongue to strip feathers, fur and meat from prey.

So if a tiger does enjoy a finger licking good meal, it’s probably better off not licking it’s paws too much!
