Did You Know Dynamite Contains Peanuts?

No not because if it explodes and debris ends up on someone’s face it needs to taste nice! But peanut is an active ingredient in dynamite.

Dynamite Contains Peanuts

Nitroglycerine is the explosive ingredient in a dynamite. This substance is derived from gylcerol. Glycerol comes from peanut oil which of course comes from peanuts. Which means the principal ingredient is peanut!

So not exactly raw peanuts but you get the idea. Don’t expect to find a label on dynamites saying ‘Warning, may contain traces of nuts’…

The dynamite was invented by Alfred Nobel in 1860 when he was experimenting with methods of blasting rocks. It was when he was experimenting with nitroglycerine he discovered the now famous dynamite.
